Dios mío, estoy en una casa de locos!

Lets just start tonight with some tailers you might have already seen before ...

If they keep playing this trailer they are gonna have to play this movie eventually.

Finally I get to see this next week!

To start off this evening the theater I was in was only about 1/3rd full but at the beginning of the movie no one would shut the hell up. The movie that the audience couldn't help but talk over was The Goonies. If you didn't know what it was about it's a group of kids embark on a wild adventure after finding a pirate treasure map. (and go back to the 80's you missed out) This is a definite must watch and a favorite movie if you are my age or grew up in the 80's. Not sure who it was in the film making process but some Rube Goldberg machines and needed to put them in the movie. This movie also started out a lot of young child stars film careers.
A few of the like Corey Feldman steals the screen whenever some thing comes out of his mouth, Sean Astin and Josh Brolin have a great brother brother relationship whenever they are on screen together.

To actually start judging this movie even tough I have a great love for it, it isn't that well put together. Some of the scenes aren't edited together the best and some of the dialog is a little redundant. Not to take anything away from Steven Spielberg that story is really cheesy, especially the ending. The acting though done but a lot of young actors early in there careers is fairly decent, lacks a little at times.I both love and hate Chunk, because he is so annoying but entertaining, I'm not sure if they were all actually friends how they could stand him. This movie is full of puns and slapstick and that could be why it is so widely loved. Oh yea and the product placement was running rampant as well. Here are some awesome things that happened ...

Ah, Shit!

I just liked this shot.
Photobucket

Oh, like the bike!
Photobucket

I swear they just threw rubber bats at them.
Photobucket

Yeah, but you know what? This one, this one right here. This was my dream, my wish. And it didn't come true. So I'm taking it back. I'm taking them all back.

Photobucket

THATS WHAT I SAID! BOOBY TRAPS!
Photobucket

Heh, if you hit the wrong note, we'll all "B flat!"
Photobucket

Another reason to call him Mouth.
Photobucket

Super Sloth!
Photobucket

They'll be no more signing today or ever again.

Just in case you forgot ... Goonies never say die!

Well, a guy who dresses up like a bat clearly has issues.

This week I am going to attempt to talk about Batman Begins. After seeing this on HBO a couple of years ago I really regret passing it up in the theater on its initial run. I am not sure that seeing it this weekend makes up for that but it was definitely worth seeing on the big screen. I had my ideal setting to see it in the theater as well, barely anyone. I am gonna blame it on the bad weather that we are currently experiencing here, although the thing that could have made it better is if it was a batman double feature. (I threw in The Dark Knight as soon as I got home) before I get into the movie lets start with a trailer.

Apparently I Heart Huckabees ...

If you didn't know what Batman Begins was about it is the origin of an eccentric billionaire that dresses up like a bat (kinda), fights crime, and seeks justice because of the death of his parents. This is an amazing reboot (origin story) for that Batman franchise that was terribly bastardized in the early nineties. Not to take anything away from Tim Burton's Batman, which was also very good for the time that it was released, I feel that this movie fit along better with the comic book story line. Gotham City was really good looking, it had a gritty feel to it and did look like the city was a little overrun by crime. I really enjoyed Christian Bale's performance of Bruce Wayne, I don't think he has much trouble playing an
eccentric billionaire, also I thought that Cillian Murphy had the right amout of creepyness to him to pull off The Scarecrow. The only problem I had with that acting was Katie Holmes character, I thought that her look fit Bruce Wayne's love interest very well but not sure that her acting was as up to par as the rest of the star studded cast. I don't really have much more to bitch about but I do have to say that if you haven't seen this movie it is a definite must watch. By the way here are a few things that happened to my friend Bruce ...

It always starts with a tragic opening.
Photobucket

An amazing feat of arm strength.
Photobucket

Discovering the Batcave.
Photobucket

The new Bat Mobile ...
Photobucket
Does it come in black?

Scarecrow just looks awesome.
Photobucket

Mayhem ensues!
Photobucket
Followed by a bunch of explosions.

An ominous precursor?

That's all for this week, and next time a childhood favorite I am definitely looking forward to.

Next week: The Goonies

I would like, if I may, to take you on a strange journey.

This week I am gonna talk about probably the most played midnight movie ever, The Rocky Horror Picture Show. To start out this experience it was completely different that any other midnight showing I have seen to date, I am still trying to decide on how much I enjoyed the total experience. First off when I got to the theater a d purchased my ticket I was surprised the the showing was eight bucks, (compared to the regular five) and I wasn't surprised to see the theater almost completely full. I did really enjoy that a bunch of people dressed up like the characters from the film. It was like Halloween all over again, seeing people dress up in things that they would normally never wear. One of the only problems I had with the showing was that the movie was shown from a DVD copy, (I prefer to see projected movies actually on celluloid) and because of that there were no previews.

If you didn't know this movie is about
a newly engaged couple have a breakdown in an isolated area and must pay a call to the bizarre residence of Dr. Frank-N-Furter. (thanks IMDb) There were plenty of cheers and applause especially when Tim Curry first made an appearance. There were a lot of things that the crowed yelled out. (some of which was not coherent) A lot of what was said was very funny, it just makes me wonder how much was said at every showing that these people have seen. It was hard for me to follow the movie at the beginning but at about the half way point most of the crowed called down and just watched the movie instead of trying to be funny. I had never seen this before so the sing a longs would have been better if I had seen the film prior to this evening. It was a great movie to see and would definitely recommend it if you like weird movies or even a musical. (I guess) The crowd interaction was great, I have never seen an entire crowd into a movie as much as this. Oh and buy the way here are some things that happened ...

An interesting title sequence.
Photobucket

(No Comment) I just wanted to say that people actually started throwing rice in the theater.
Photobucket

These two are now referred to buy everyone as Slut and Asshole, respectfully.
Photobucket

There's a light, over at the Frankenstein place.
Photobucket
Most of the people held up lighters or cell phones.

It's just a jump to the left.
And then a step to the right!
Photobucket
With your hands on your hips... You bring your knees in tight! But it's the pelvic thrust / That really drives you insane / Let's do the time warp again! (everyone in the theater actually got up and did it)

Meatloaf had one of the best and shortest on screen presences.
Photobucket

Touch-a touch-a touch-a touch me / I wanna be dirty!
Photobucket
Chill me, thrill me, fulfill me / Creature of the night! (people were at the screen doing just that)

"Can someone get Dr.Scott a fucking fork!"
Photobucket

An RKO Radio Picture
Photobucket

The lazer shots were amazing!
Photobucket

The crowd actually spun the screen.
Photobucket

The only thing I wish I would have done is actually seen this movie before hand, I think it would have only heightened the whole experience. Well thats gonna be all for now.
